African Safari

Nothing says “adventure” quite like an African Safari. The adventure lovers who haven’t dreamed of chasing the big cat through the African plains are few and far between. Multiple opportunities exist for the safari enthusiast. The biggest problem is not finding a safari adventure to join, but in deciding on just the right one.

Depending on the country in Africa you plan on visiting, you will have multiple types of safaris to choose from. Some safaris include a certain amount of overnight stays in either a hotel or more rustic conditions. Mini day safaris also exist and are ideal for the traveler with multiple tourist plans. Uganda offers gorilla tracking, an adventure that will bring you face to face with the massive primates in their native environment. Or try Botswana, where you can have some of the best river game viewing in Africa.

South Africa includes not only wildlife on land, but in sea as well. Take a boat tour to visit the gigantic whales that frequent the waters off the south shore. Tanzania will leave safari goers breathless while experiencing the wildebeest migration, as well as the opportunity to take in the splendor of Mount Kilimanjaro or the openness of the Serengeti.

If you know exactly what you are looking for and no pre-packaged tour seems to fit the bill, you have the option of designing your own safari. The price is likely to be much higher than other safaris, but it may be worth it for this once-in-a-lifetime excursion. With a custom safari, you can pick the country, number of nights, type of accommodations and what type of wildlife adventure you specifically want.  Accommodations can vary from luxurious resort-style to the more rustic outdoor camping-inspired experience.
