Five must visit destinations in 2011

Where are you going away this year? I can't believe that you're stuck for ideas for an adventure in 2011, but here's some inspiration - in the form of five must visit destinations, from Costa Rica to Zanzibar.

Costa Rica

If you're looking for an eco-adventure, I’d recommend a trip to Costa Rica? Explore the rainforests; I’m sure you’ll find howler monkeys, poison dart frogs and you could even spot a Toucan on your way. The Costa Rican Bird Route can take you from wetlands and river explorations to high rainforest canopies and waterfalls. If you’d like to hike or canoe through local reserves in search of rare raptors, herons and kingfishers, visit Costa Rica.

Koh Samui, Thailand

Koh Samui is Thailand’s third-largest island - a tropical gem in the southern Gulf of Thailand. A real natural beauty, with white sandy beaches, abundant coral reefs and plenty of palm trees to shelter under. If you're looking for a place to relax, possibly trying out some yoga with the locals, Koh Samui has a growing reputation as one of Thailand’s top well-being destinations.

Las Vegas

I can't tell you what happens in Vegas as, obviously, that stays in Vegas. Although I can tell you what could happen in Vegas. It'd certainly be easy to lose track of time, as none of the casinos have clocks - and, apparently, there's never-ending entertainment; food, drink, gambling and much, much more. One thing's for sure, not many people escape Sin City without having a good time. Head for the bright lights!

Norway

This could be the year to gaze at the dazzling Nordic light and explore Norway's dramatic landscape. Norway's fjords and southern coastline make the country an awesome summer getaway, but it can also be a charming winter destination. If you're feeling adventurous, why not go trekking Lyngen Alps? Be warned, they're only accessible by high-speed boats that shuttle across the fjord.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an idyllic African isle, with its pure white beaches and relatively modern infrastructure. The Tanzanian island’s trade winds attract plenty of kite surfers, as well as tourists looking for a beach stop after a safari in East Africa. It’d be easy to just have a beach break but Stonetown, Zanzibar’s capital, is well worth exploring - a labyrinth of streets and eclectic mix of buildings.

Wherever you're travelling to in 2011, one way to save some money is to pre-book your airport parking. Choose from parking at 26 UK airports, including Birmingham airport parking and Heathrow airport parking. That way, you know you'll have a space waiting for you, which will help get your 2011 adventure off to a hassle-free start.
