Miami

In a state that is quickly becoming known for the retirees and snowbirds who flock there in the winter, Miami defies the stereotype. For U.S. citizens, Miami is an exciting tropical getaway that offers a quicker and more affordable alternative to some Caribbean destinations.

Located on the ocean, Miami is worth visiting for the breathtaking water views alone. Take a dip in the water at any one of the multiple beaches in the area. Try out a new water sport or build a sand castle, all the while basking in the gorgeous sunlight.

Nightlife in Miami is matched by few other cities. It’s no wonder so many celebrities find themselves frequenting such an exciting city. Restaurants, nightclubs and bars adorn streets lined with visitors partaking in the action. Music pumps through the air, declaring night-time Miami to be a party zone.  Put on your dancing shoes and find the Latin beat at any one of the numerous nightclubs. Visit Little Havana and relax, enjoying the sounds of the Afro-Cuban rhythms that permeate the ozone.

For the traveler seeking family-friendly activities, Miami is lousy with family activities. Amusement and theme parks are sure to thrill travelers of any age. Everglades National Park is an experience you will not soon forget as you take in the natural wonders, and dangers, of the Everglades. If you are interested in a bit of a thrill, visit the Everglades Alligator farm and get up close and personal with the creatures most other people try to avoid. Biscayne National Park boasts the only living tropical reef within the continental U.S. and is also a tourist favorite. Sea-loving tourists will enjoy all the fun that Miami Seaquarium offers as well with displays of dolphins, sea lions, and killer whales.
